Because Slapping Strangers Isn’t Acceptable

It’s the changing of a season.

That time when we put away our bathing suits and sunscreen and we start to break out our closed toed shoes and favorite tea. (apricot green for me in case you’re curious)

It’s also the time when kids go back to school. Life has to settle back into a “routine” and a lot of us have that feeling that we have to stop messing around and get back to life/work/normalcy after a summer of weddings, camping, trips, and doing whatever the heck we want.

And usually..this time can feel stressful. Trying to juggle the pick up schedules, work, life, and staying on top of health can feel overwhelming. Plus…I don’t know about you but even though I haven’t been in school for years, I still get a bit of anxiety when I see back to school stuff in Target and the air starts to chill.

Stress is common. It’s something so prevalent in our lives we probably don’t even recognize it as stress anymore. But the problem with stress is that when we have it, we aren’t able to act calmly and reasonably. We might want to slap a stranger for cutting us off in traffic #guilty. We might snap at our loved ones. We might feel overwhelmed. Our bodies might take on the feelings and start shutting down making us more susceptible to sickness.

But more than any of that…stressful life things happens all the time and we don’t have to live in that state of anxiety or stress. We can practice becoming calm even when your ex’s new girlfriend is sending you nasty emails or your boss piles more things on your plate and you don’t feel appreciated. And this meditation is one way to do that.

Now…please excuse the lo-fi nature of this. I meant to get all fancy with it, but truthfully…I didn’t have the energy (still dealing with some health issues). BUT I still wanted to send this along because this is a SUPER simple and easy meditation you can do anytime and anywhere to get yourself all calm and less stressed.

Check it out.

And once you watch, I’d love to hear from you. In the comments below let me know…
