Awesome Things Thursday: 3 Simple Tricks That Will Make Your Life Easier (and cooler)
Ever since I knew I was moving to a new apartment, I’ve ben pinning my little heart out, looking for ways to decorate or tips to clean (someone else’s) handprints off my wall. And I keep finding amazing little tips that have made life easier, more organized, and more fun. Check out my favorite three Life Hacks from this week.
1) iPhone Amplification, Without Speakers: So my best friend showed me this trick as we were rocking out to Pandora while unpacking. If you want your iPhone speakers to be louder, and you don’t want to spend extra money on speakers, all you have to do is put your phone in a mug or a ceramic cereal bowl. There’s something about the concave shape that amplifies the sound. Try it and let me know what you think.
2) Use A Rubberband To Remove A Stripped Screw: I have been doing a ton of household projects since I moved into my new place and inevitably, there have been lots of nails and screws I’ve needed to remove. This hack is all about how to remove a stripped screw, using a rubberband. Just place the rubberband over the screw and twist away!
3) Fun Way To Organize Your Sheet Sets: This hack is so simple and SUCH a great idea. Fold your sheet sets and put them inside that set’s pillowcase for easy and organized storing. I don’t know about you, but to me, this is MUCH better than random sheets and pillowcases folded all jankily in my linen closet. What do you think?
Ok friends…that’s it for today. Three little life hacks that’ll make things easier for you. Do you have a special hack you like to use that makes your life easier? Share it here in the comments below!
I love these hints! Here’s one for you: take a permanent market and put a big S on your shampoo bottle, C for conditioner, and S/C for a combo. Great for those of us who can’t see without our glasses!
Hahhaha! This one is GREAT!!! Thanks mom.
I love it when moms comment on blog posts :)
Me too! I think it’s really adorable. And almost every time she asks “is it ok if I comment on your blog or is it weird?”
OR, just colour code your bottles, Mom. No need to read, just as long as you can see in colour, you’ll be fine!
I have to go with Mom on this one. Color coding doesn’t work for me. The maker of the product already color codes the tops of the bottles or the label but I can never remember which color is which. I have even gone so far as to insist that they are in the same place relative to each other but I still have to check first. I tend to “think” while in the shower and remembering which color is shampoo and which is conditioner is distracting. LOL I’m going to mark up my bottles right now.
Sally, all three hints are great. The 3rd one is already in place at my house and the other two will be used as needed. Thanks! <3
