{TGIF} Try Gratitude…It’s Friday!
It’s so easy to be in our heads and think about how much things ARE NOT going the way we want, or focusing on things we DON’T have. So…I’ve decided, that at least once a week, on Fridays, we should all take a minute to focus on things that ARE going well. Things we’re grateful for. I’ll be putting together a list of things that I love. That I’m grateful for. Or happy about. All from this week. I’ll go, then YOU go. Leave a comment on the blog with some of the things you’re grateful for RIGHT NOW.
When al ele fails…and especially when you don’t want to…Try gratitude.
Here goes…
I’m grateful for:
My great dane, Coach, and how much he teaches me about unconditional love. Unconditional love, in general. Love, in general. Blue skies. Sun on my skin (underneath SPF 50 of course). Cowboy hats. Fresh cut grass. New friends and connections. 8 hours of sleep. Moms…all of them. My best friend and her cute as heck kids. My clients (I’m SO grateful for you all). The ability to keep reaching for my dreams, even when they feel so impossible. My coach. Serendipitous opportunities. A roof over my head. Healthy food. Water. Hiking. Lakes. Smiling at strangers and getting smiled at by strangers. Laughter. Rituals. Learning new things. All the people that have come and gone in my life. All the people that are currently in my life. My parents. Camarillo. Color (right now I’m looking at yellow). Seeing art in everything. Seeing love in everything. A tired doggy. Stretchy pants.
Ok…now YOU go!
Here are some pics and a video from my week. Hope you had a great one. Don’t forget to leave a comment with some things YOU are grateful for.
Now you tell me what YOU’RE grateful for. Make sure you leave a comment below and if you’re not already on my mailing list…GIT IN THERE so I can tell you when new stuff happens!! Click here.
I am grateful for this reminder….And my goofy great dane stella :)
And I’m grateful for you sharing.
I’m grateful for my two dogs, my partner and for being fortunate enough to live in NYC…it’s been a year and a half but I am still falling in love more deeply every day.
I bet you could live there the rest of your life and still find things to fall in love with!! :)
I am super grateful to be in New Mexico for a week of desert heat, sunshine, adobe walls, loads of time with my soul sisters, and good food….
I am also grateful for a new home, my fucking amazing children who love to hug me, my kick-ass mom, and my courage to move forward even when I am scared….
I am also grateful to Sally for her rockstar role in helping all of us be the best we can be…. You go girl!!!!!
What an amazing list! I especially love the part about moving forward even when you’re scared, although I love the entire list, fully. :) And I’m so grateful for that beautiful shout out. It means more to me than you know. So much love sent your way.
I’m grateful for Fridays….. for living in a gorgeous part of the world… for work I love… for friends that listen and remind me to make eye contact… for chai almond milk lattes… for kale!… for my crazy bichon-poo, Potter… for clients that sparkle… for tears that heal…. for LIFE…. for shadows… for my eccentric co-active family… for a mother who is still living…. for open adoption…. for miracles and magic in very tangible real ways… for being covered in skin rather than scales :)…. for you!
HELEN!! What an honor to have you on here!! I’m so grateful for you being grateful for all this stuff!! And I found your list so delightful. I actually giggled about the “skin rather than scales” part. And have to agree about the kale part too. :)
What a great reminder. I am totally grateful this week for how beautiful my garden looks outside my window. Its so nice every time I look outside!
Thanks for the great post – Happy Friday!
Ahhh I just got a vision of you looking out your window and smiling at the simple beauty of what you’ve grown, and what naturally just grows on its own. So lovely! Thank you for sharing.
I am grateful for being at home with my son all week as he transitions from high school student to internship counselor for 8 weeks.
Great post and Coach is ADORABLE!
Hey Maureen…whoa!! What an awesome opportunity for your son! Must have a great mama. :) And thanks for your compliments on Coach. He’s my little baby. Hahha
You always crack me up, Miss Sally. Cute kids, pretty flowers, beloved pet AND tequila!
Feeling SO grateful all week (long before Friday). For new opportunities, a man who cares, my beloved Giants that provide so much free entertainment nearly every day, my hair stylist who helps make me look and feel like a hottie (even at my age!), my ability to remain composed, witty & charming in a job interview, the energy to walk a mile today in the beautiful, sunny weather, being surrounded by good friends who always come through, no matter what!
“These are a few of my favorite things…”
xo
Lisa
You know how we do!
I am starting to really look forward to this each week… :)
I’m currently grateful for: beer, really good food, thunderstorms and lightning, making new friends, dancing, writing, finding support in places you didn’t expect, fresh veggies, farmer’s markets, my neighborhood, and planning trips!
Ahhh that makes me feel so good. Like really really good. And I’m glad you like it and participate. WEEEEEE!!!
Sally, I absolutely love this, thanks for the reminder to be grateful for what I have.
This week, I’m grateful for my best friend. We’ve been friends since high school, she is actually, more like a sister now. It is SO hard to find someone you can trust, someone you can talk to without being judged, someone who will tell it to you like it is, someone who doesn’t take you for granted. She is all that and more. This week things are not going as planned ( when do they really? ) and so a few days ago I called her to vent, she listened and that is all I needed. SO, I’m grateful for having my friend for longer than I’ve been alive by my side, when I need her most, always. I need to go tell her how grateful I am for her being in my life. Thanks, Sally! xoxo
Hey Yvette…thank you for participating! And sheesh, I hear you. Best friends are so important. Those people that love us throughout ALL the phases of our lives. Who are our partners in crime. Sounds like you have a great catch.
I am grateful for B School and stopping to smell the roses, like coming across your blog :) I LOVE your dog!!! How beautiful :)
Hey Reena! Thank you so much for stopping by. I’m so glad it’s resonating with you and I hope you get on the mailing list so I can keep in touch and let you know when awesome new things happen. :)
I’m grateful for beauty revealed in people at the perfect time, my healthy crazy strong willed kids, my amazing hubby who is a rock, my sensitive body who directs me to nourish it well, KALE and fresh juiced vegg, my garden, returning home to my bed after a trip, my challenges which bring me closer to truth, the birds chirping outside my window, margarita’s with one oz Damiana added for extra fun (but not too often!)
and. . . YOU!
I love visiting your blog and look forward to next Friday Sally!
KALE!!! YUMMMMMMMMMMMMMM.
Your dog is so cute! I am grateful for my husband, Fridays, and my dog, Luna. Thanks for a great post.
Hey Brittni! And thank you so much for visiting and sharing. Aren’t doggies the best?
