Dexter. Tap Dancing. And Gratefulness.
Happy Friday everyone! It feels good to say hello to you all, especially since I’ve been home with the flu for about a week. It came on slowly, then quickly, and has me a bit set back with my life and work plans (including having to cancel my own birthday and bon voyage party). But even in the midst of all this, I have so much to be grateful for. And I’m so aware of how much love and support is around.
It’s Friday, the day where we all get to come together on this blog and say the things we are grateful for. It’s so easy to be in our heads and worry about what’s not going right, or what we don’t have, and this exercise is the opposite of that. There are always things to be grateful for. Let’s share.
TGIF everyone! Try Gratitude…It’s Friday. I’ll go, then you go.
I’m grateful for:
Good health. Health insurance. My family who bends over backwards to help when I’m sick or in need. Home-cooked meals from my sister. Puppy love. Tap class. Waking up early. In person get togethers with old friends. Text catch ups. A nice long walk. Good movies. Dexter in my Netflix queue. Looking forward. Reminiscing. My funny friends. Just being. Introspection. Wit. Wonder. My upcoming mani/pedi and hair appointment. Sunshine. The smile on my dog’s face when he plays catch. Learning. Shantastical. Inspired ideas. Dreaming of what my new apartment will look like all decorated. People who want to make a difference in the world.
Now it’s your turn. Leave a comment on the blog with all that you are grateful for today. TGIF!!
as you are a recent discovery, this is my first time commenting :) . I love to cook and so I am grateful for the abundance of food in America and the different cultures who brought their varied styles with them so that I can continue to make new stuff to eat!
Feel better!
Hey! WELCOME!! :) And thank you so much for sharing. I love how you point to the mixing pot that is our country. Very cool. And I hope you share your awesome new recipes with us! :)
Have a great day.
Hope you feel better soon!!
Thank you lady!
I am greatful for a weekend with beautiful Weather for the outdoor. I have a great job and cowirkers. I have a great wife. I am healthy. Great to have found this place on line also! :-)
Sally…so sorry you were sick. It’s hell being human sometimes, isn’t it?
This week is probably the most bittersweet week I’ve had in years. Good things, bad things. Funny…all I can concentrate on is the good stuff. I even had to give the heave-ho to someone who was dragging me down. I don’t regret it. Years ago a therapist told me, “People/friends will constantly move in and out of your life. It’s supposed to happen this way so you can evolve.” I realize it’s o.k. to let go of someone when needed.
This week I’m so grateful for being able to have enough positive to make handling the negative easier. A man who wants to “grow old” with me. Friends who will stick their neck out for me because they believe in me. The opportunity to live what your Linked In profile page headline says (stand by for November!). Country music artists that listened to a lot of AC/DC, Judas Priest and 80’s hair bands in their youth.
It’s all good.

Once again my dear…you spit wisdom. I love the little nugget from your therapist. And I so agree..each person in our life makes a difference in our growth. Thank you for the reminder. Much love to you, you lil country girl.
I’m grateful that Orlando is FINALLY getting fall weather (84 high/65 low – that’s great for Florida!) I’m also grateful for…
Pumpkins, fall scented candles, making new friends, seeing friends succeed, talks with my Mom, running, my personal trainer who makes working out not totally suck, writing, new notebooks, good pens, hammocks, purging of things, learning to say “no”, and successful attempts at a new recipe!
Hope you feel better soon!
Yeah girl! What an awesome list. Thank you for sharing and continuing to be awesome.
