Awesome Things Thursday: Crystals

Ok. So I’ve always been one of those people that was all like “yeah I’m a life coach, but it’s not like I carry around crystals or anything.” I’ve always associated things like this with super woo woo, I-should-be-wearing-a-long-flowy-skirt-and-talking-about-your-aura stuff, which, in general, I don’t really resonate with. But what I DO resonate with is being conscious about the things I bring into my life.

So the other day I was walking downtown in my little Montana town and stumbled upon a shop I’d never been to, although I’d passed by it a million times. For some reason, that day, I felt the need to go in. I didn’t even know what kind of shop it was, but once I got in there, I seriously felt like I had space traveled myself back to Berkeley. This shop was filled with crystals and candles and sage and and prayer beads and those bowl things that they use at yoga class to make sound and relax you. My friend and I were at the table looking at stones when a woman comes out of nowhere and says “oh yes, those are great for warding off bad energy. You just put them right by your front door.”

I was shocked.

Here I am in the middle of Montana, being told about the energy clearing benefits of selenite. Never once in California have I been in a shop quite like this (although I know they exist everywhere). Something about the randomness of the store in this town, and how I happened to go inside that day, made me more motivated than ever before to check it all out, and to be honest, I had been thinking about crystals lately anyway as I’m trying to Feng Shui my new place (woo alert…high). So I bought three different kinds, all for different reasons. They’re beautiful, they spoke to me, and so I’m including them in my “Awesome Things” list. I’ve had them about four days and I’m already starting to notice some changes. Is it because of the crystals? Who knows and who cares. Either way, cool things are happening.

1) Citrine Druzy

Citrine Druzy symbolizes wealth; it not only helps us to manifest wealth, it enables us to hang on to it. Feng Shui says to place it in the far right corner from your door.

2) Natural Amethyst

Natural Amethyst is extremely beneficial to the mind calming or stimulating as appropriate. Mentally, it helps you feel less scattered and more focused. It enhances the assimilation of new ideas and connects cause with effort.

3) Rose Quartz

Rose Quartz is the stone of universal love. It restores trust and harmony in relationships and encourages unconditional love. It encourages self-forgiveness and acceptance. Opens the heart at all levels to promote love, self-love, friendship, and feelings of peace.
