It’s been a big cry fest at Chez Sally Hope lately. Don’t get me wrong. I’m happy. I love my new town, my new friends, my new experiences. But it’s just been a lot. I’ve finally slowed down, after two years of traveling. The stillness, while amazing and wonderful, allows for thoughts and feelings to creep in that perhaps were covered up by so much moving around. I think it’s all normal. I just happen to be a hyper aware person, so unfortunately (or fortunately) nothing slips by unnoticed and un-felt.

And in these times, my tendency is to want to crawl into my shell, all alone, and feel sorry for myself. Which, obviously (and as I’m sure you know), doesn’t work.

Life gets overwhelming. And we can’t always do it alone and we can’t always hold it inside. So don’t try. When you need support, reach out for it. When you need to talk to someone, let them know. Let your friends be there for you…they want to. Trust me. And when you need to cry, do it. In my opinion, it’s one of the most beautiful things in the world…someone being real about their emotions. And when in doubt, and when you forget…listen to this song.
